In April 2013 the Government announced funding of £150 million for Physical Education (P.E and Sport). The aim of the funding is to improve sport provision, creating a lasting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympics games by inspiring the sporting stars of the future and encouraging all children to enjoy an active lifestyle.
It is up to schools on how to spend this money. At Newton we are passionate about providing children with a range of sporting opportunities and ensuring that children lead an active life style. Questionnaires are sent to all children/parents to complete on the current and future provision of P.E and sport within the school. Following this an action Plan is created from the comments and suggestions from the parents and children.
Please see yearly action plans for further breakdown on how we are spending the funding and the impact of participation, attainment and sustainability.
